Here is a very simple recipe for gooseberry pie. It turns out very delicious and flavorful. The gooseberries contrast perfectly with the soft, sweet pastry - especially if the berries are not overripe and have a pleasant acidity.

If you like, you can replace the gooseberries in this cake with other berries, such as sour cherries, raspberries, black currants, or other berries of your choice. Any of these combinations will make the cake very tasty.

Recipe:

Prepare the batter. Cream butter with sugar.

Add the eggs and mix.

Add flour sifted with baking powder and salt and mix - the consistency will be about muffin batter.

Pour the batter into a greased pan.

Tear off the stems from the gooseberries and place on top of the batter.

Sprinkle with sugar and place in a preheated oven at 180 °C. Bake until done, about 30-40 minutes.

Serve warm or cold.
