If a simple pound cake isn't enough for your tea party, add frosting! And it will immediately sparkle with new colors.

Today I invite you to bake a flavorful orange pound cake with cream cheese frosting. It is not much easier to make than an ordinary pound cake - the frosting here is from the "combine-whipe-spread" category. Although, of course, it is nicer not to spread it, but to pipe it out of a pastry bag.

Recipe:

For the cake batter, cream the butter and sugar.

Add the eggs, beating well after each addition. Add the orange zest and half of the flour sifted with baking powder. Pour in the milk and mix. Gradually add the remaining flour and mix.

Pour into a greased pan.

Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for about 40 minutes. Remove from the pan and allow to cool completely. Cut into 2 pieces.

Prepare the frosting. Combine the refrigerated cream with the cream cheese and whisk until smooth. Add powdered sugar at the end.

Pour the frosting into a pastry bag and spread it on the first half of the cake.

Cover with the second half. Decorate the cake with the rest of the frosting. I added some orange pieces and mint leaves.

Serve.

Enjoy your tea party!
